Clir Renewables, the leading provider of performance optimization software for wind and solar projects, announced that they have won a Companies-to-Watch award from Deloitte. The award spotlights emerging companies that exhibit strong growth and show potential to be a future candidate of the Technology Fast 50 award.

Clir's CEO, Gareth Brown, attributes much of this growth to the company’s unique approach to using machine learning to analyze and optimize wind and solar projects. Brown said, “2021 has been a high-growth year for Clir with the successful CAD$29m Series B funding round and increasing our employee count by 100 percent. GCube, one of the largest insurance providers in the industry, recently announced its decision to use Clir’s software to radically improve risk assessments for underwriting. Clir combines the world’s largest renewable energy operational data set (200 GW) with advanced AI that is designed, built and supported by decades of renewable energy expertise to maximize the financial returns and minimize risk of renewable energy projects.

“We are confident we can successfully meet the industry’s continuing demands for AI-driven monitoring and optimization platforms. We are delighted to have been named as one of Canada’s Companies-to-Watch in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ program. Our highly skilled team and excellent service standards are key to our success in empowering renewables stakeholders to maximize their financial returns.”

Companies-to-Watch winners are new companies headquartered in Canada, demonstrating superior technology, effective management experience and common traits of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award winners. To be eligible, candidates must also devote a significant portion of their operating revenues to creating proprietary technology or intellectual property.

“With great pride, we wish to congratulate this year’s Companies-to-Watch winners,” stated Anders McKenzie, partner and national leader for the Technology Fast 50 program at Deloitte Canada. “Their growth trajectory and ability to thrive through uncertainty, particularly during these turbulent times, have set these organizations apart and established them as an emerging cohort of tech leaders in Canada.”
